Learn to dance Northern Soul

We are delighted to announce that Sharon Sullivan will be teaching Northern Soul at the start of the next Rum n Gogo on 11th March. Sharon is a professional, internationally reknowned teacher  having taught not only in many parts of the UK but also in France and Italy.

Sharon has been dancing Northern Soul since she was 15 and teaching it since 2008. If you have never danced this style before then don’t miss this chance to learn from an established, experienced instructor who will break the moves down into understandable steps. If you already dance to Northern Soul then come along and improve your style on our fabulous sprung maple floor. Sharon is based in Huddersfield and is coming down to spread her love of Northern Soul to South East London.

The class will begin at 7.45pm and last until 8.45pm. Price for the class and club after is just £8.

The class will be followed by the usual great mix of music from resident DJ and host Pat Da Kat. He’ll be playing plenty of Northern Soul to show off your new found moves along with Motown, 70’s & 80’s Soul, Ska and a little Reggae.

If you are not coming to the class then admission after 9pm will be the usual £5.

For those that haven’t been to the Royston Ballroom before it is a fabulous venue not only because of the sprung wooden dance floor, but easy free parking and social club bar prices also. Hot food will be available as usual from Ruby.

The Royston is part of The Penge and District Trade Union & Social Club and the entrance is tucked away between the houses where Royston Road joins Westbury Road. 85 Royston Road, Penge, London SE20 7QW
