Thank you to everyone who supported Hollywood Boogie throughout 2015. We appreciate that there is often a lot of choice of where to go and what to do and we are happy when you choose to spend your time with us.
We hope to see many of our regulars back in 2016 and some new faces (and feet!).
We are starting the New Year off with a bang on Saturday 2nd January with one of our favourite bands “Down for the Count”
They are a fantastic band to dance to so you will be grateful for the sprung wooden floor for which the Royston Ballroom is famous.
They play a great mix of Swing classics inspired by the big bands of the Swing Era like Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Duke Ellington and the talented vocalists do great justice to work by the likes of The Andrews Sisters, Louis Jordan, Peggy Lee etc. Their music will make you want to dance so whether you want to LindyHop, Jive or Foxtrot come on down and check them out.
Here’s the dates for your diary for the first half of 2016 at the Royston Ballroom in Penge, South East London. No dates fixed for Kent yet but watch this space.
And now for something completely different……..
So that’s the Swing dancers and Jivers sorted but we know many of our regulars enjoy the last 30 minutes or so of our regular Saturday nights when Pat Da Kat mixes it up and plays some classic soul numbers. By popular request we will now have a night of Motown, Northern Soul, Ska, Reggae, 70’s & 80’s soul “Old Skool Style” on the second Friday of each month.
**The launch night of Rum n GoGo will be on January 8th**
Come on down and Party!
